Comenius LiVE SC

LiVE-SC is an EU-funded project between three different schools from Austria (project coordination), Poland and Portugal. The aim is to connect students and let them learn from each other mainly by using a virtual learning environment (VLE).

Project Overview

The focus of the project is an innovative information and communication technology management system called “ Moodle” and its utility in international collaboration. The students will explore the various features of a virtual learning environment and learn how to utilize them within the project.

In the first year students investigated cultural traditions in their own and in each others countries. Results were published and discussed in a VLE ( virtual learning environment ) and a CD-ROM has been produced based on this shared student information.

The second year will involve each school partner’s students designing and producing a phrase book and multimedia CD-ROM for young people who travel in each of the three partner countries. To develop their outcomes students will facilitate each other internationally by using the VLE.

Finally the students will collaborate on “Moodle” to design and produce a questionnaire to survey cultural stereotypes and assess how these may be changing in Europe. The survey will be carried out by information exchange between all the students in the project, and the outcome will be the production of an illustrated survey report. The students will depend on each other and explore virtual collaboration.
